Description
Judging by its slim silhouette, this Pilot fountain pen dates from the late 1960s or 70s. Made for the Japanese market, I don’t believe it was ever sold in the U.S. Measuring 5 1/8” capped and 5 3/4” posted, the pen is in mint condition. The slip cap closes with a satisfying click and posts securely. While the section is solid blue, the finish on the cap and barrel is embedded with very fine gold particles. The effect is subtle and lovely. The pen comes with an empty Pilot ink cartridge that can be refilled using a syringe. It has a 14K gold nib that lays down a fine line. Though firm, it can produce a bit of line variation (see writing sample).
