Extend the life of your bearings and reduce operating costs with BESSEY's induction bearing heaters!  It is usually not possible to cold-mount larger bearings easily or achieve an accurate fit, and without an accurate fit, bearing life is drastically reduced.  The solution to this problem is to create a temperature differential between the bearing and the shaft prior to installation, usually by heating the bearing to expand its inside diameter.  After mounting on the shaft, the bearing will cool and create a strong interference or friction fit.  While there are a few methods that can be used to heat bearings, induction bearing heaters are the safest and most efficient means available.  Induction heaters work by generating a high-frequency alternating current (AC) that is then passed through an electromagnet. The rapidly alternating magnetic field penetrates the bearing, generating electric currents, called eddy currents, that heat it up.  The result is fast heating with very low energy use, and the best possible fit on the shaft!  To ensure safety, BESSEY designed their heaters to demagnetize the bearings at the end of the heating process to prevent them from attracting metal particles during operation.  All BESSEY induction bearing heaters are portable and are equipped with a magnetic probe, digital temperature and time controls, a variety of cross bar yokes, and include a pair of heat protective gloves rated to 300 degrees Farenheit.  In addition to bearings, BESSEY's induction bearing heaters can also be used to heat sprockets, gears, couplings and sleeves.  The PVH3813 can accommodate bearings with an ID of 3/8" - 3-7/8", a maximum OD of 15", a maximum width of 5-1/4", and a maximum weight of 110 lbs.
